Meet Mr. Dold! Mr. Dold is a student teacher from Kennesaw State University. He will be in our classroom for the next ten weeks learning all there is to know about teaching. He will be conducting lessons, working with small groups, planning activities for our children, and many more tasks related to our job. He and I will be collaborating daily to provide lots of engaging lessons and activities for our children. We are very excited to have him in our class!

Hey kiddos!
As we take this day off to remember a hero in American history, follow this website to learn more about Dr. King. There's a slideshow and quiz to follow. There's even crossword puzzles that you can print and complete.

I wanted to post some websites that our kiddos might like. One is the NASA for kids website. We will be learning about the sun, moon, and stars this nine weeks and our kids are already very interested in everything in space. This is a great site for them to explore and learn about space. The other websites/links are for fraction games. Our students are really loving our math unit on fractions, so I promised I would post some games on our blog. They can play these for their nightly math minutes. Click on the links below to access the websites. Enjoy!!!
Download IntrotoFractions- This is a introduction to fractions powerpoint I showed in class. At the end of the Powerpoint, there are links to some learning exercises and games. **There may be some pop-up ads on the links.

Hello parents,
First of all, I would to thank each of you for your thoughtfulness and generosity during the holiday season. I enjoyed all of the treats I received over the holiday break. I am one lucky teacher to have such great parents and kids, and I can't wait to get started in 2012 making more memories and watching our kiddos become even more successful. Thank you.
Things to Remember for 2012:
-Reading and math logs should be filled out nightly. Students are required to read and do math 30 nightly- 15 minutes in math, 15 minutes in reading. Students are also required to write one letter to me about what they are reading/what they've read during that week. This nine weeks the expectation is that every student write two to three paragraphs.
-New Math Homework Options will be sent home on Tuesday. Your child can complete any of these activities for their required math minutes.
-Please initial your child's agenda daily.
-Report cards will be sent home on Friday. Please sign and return the report card signature card on Monday.
-No School-Monday, January 16th-MLK Day
