Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!

First quarter report cards went home this afternoon. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you would like to arrange a conference prior to our conference week in January. My email is natalie.sabo@cobbk12.org.

Our October Book Reports are due on the 29th. Your child may read a book of his/her choice. However, I highly recommend encouraging your child to branch away from picture books and to begin reading chapter books if they haven't already begun to do so.

I hope to see you all at Varner's Fall Festival this Friday evening!

ANXIOUS READERS...

Our class is anxiously waiting to have the opportunity to begin checking out AR books in the Media Center again. Last week, we were busy testing and this week, the Media Center has been closed due to technical difficulties. We're all waiting patiently :0 )   In the meantime, please encourage your child to read a book of their choice nightly for RAH (Read At Home).  Thanks for your support!

WELCOME TO OUR CLASS BLOG!!!

Hello and welcome to Mrs. Kuba's Class Blog! Feel free to visit my page regularly; there will be weekly updates of class news and upcoming events. Your questions and comments are gladly welcomed! Our October class newsletter was sent home on Friday September 29th. It included a calendar of important dates to remember this month. As a reminder, our field trip to New Echota will be Monday October 8th. Wednesday October 17th is an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:15. Can you please help?... Our class frequently uses magazing clippings for projects in many subject areas. We're going to use magazines to complete a project for our unit on geometry and for a health project that will focus on nutrition. However, our magazine supply is dwindling! If you have any magazines (eg; Better Home & Gardens, Southern Living, Ranger Rick, Field & Stream, Cooking Light) that are ready to be recycled, we will gladly accept them! Thanks!

Refreshed and Well into the New Year!

Greetings! Now that we're refreshed and well into the New Year, our class will resume blogging on a regular basis. The students will take turns updating our blog at the end of the day. Gabby has volunteered to be our first student to fill you in:

Over the last  few days we've been learning about Romare Bearden and that he is a terrific artist and all his paintings. We also learned about what he paints like Aferican American collages and photomontages. I made a collage called, "Tropical Trees".
