2nd 9 weeks

Dear Parents and families,

Ms. Bollig and I can hardly believe that we have completed 9 weeks of school. Time really does fly when you are having fun. Ms. Bollig and I are having a wonderful time getting to know your student. Please look for report cards to come home on Monday October 22nd. Please sign the card and return it in the brown envelope you may keep the report card for your records. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Below is an overview of the topics we will be covering during the 2nd 9 weeks grading period.

Math: division with 2 digit divisors, decimals, fractions, weight and measurement. 

Language Arts: Traditional Literature and Response to Literature

Social Studies: colonization and Eastern Woodland Indians

Science: simple machines, forces and motion, sound and light

October Blog

Even teachers make mistakes! In September's newletter I stated that Monday October 8th would be a student holiday. Well, I was wrong. We will be having school on that day. So Ms. Bollig and I look forward to seeing your child.

Classroom Updates:

Math: continue multiplication facts, 2 digit by 1 digit, 2 digit by 2 digit

Social Studies: Explorers

Reading: we will begin the novel Pedro's Journal it is historical fiction. Pedro is with Christopher Columbus as he discovers the New World.

Writing: Personal Narrative "My best Day Ever"
