PTA Performance!!!!
This Thursday, November 3rd is the 2nd grade PTA Performance! Please let me know if you plan to come by filling out the form that went home. Please dress your child in fall colors and meet in our room by 5:45. The performance will begin shortly after 6:00!
Box Tops: Monday October 31,2011
The October contest will end Monday. The class that turns in the most Box Tops will receive a special prize. As a reminder to parents, we are also collecting Labels for Education, Sunny D labels, Tyson A+ labels.
Breakfast Seminar: Tuesday November 1, 2011. 8:15am-9:00am
Do you ever feel like pulling your hair out when it comes to disciplining your kids? Early Intervention Specialist, Stuart Bachman, will give tips and strategies for dealing with common behavior problems. Biscuits will be sold outside in the front of school for carpool students and in the lobby for bus riders. The biscuits are $2.50 each.
Reflections Reception: Thursday, November 3, 2011 at 6:00pm
Following the PTA meeting there will be a reception for ALL the participants, and winners in the Media Center.
Books for Bonuses: Friday, November 4, 2011
This is a reading incentive program for the students. Every nine weeks (three times a year), the students turn in a reading log (required reading minutes grade appropriate) the students get rewarded for reading.
United Way Spirit Week: Monday October 31- November 4, 2011
Monday, October 31st: Story Book Character Dress-Up Day Cost - $1.00 Staff & Students - dress up like your favorite storybook character. Students must bring the book or copy of the book cover to school. Penny Wars: Staff and Students bring in your spare pennies to add to your grade level jars. Grade levels will compete for the Penny War Championship. Grade Level winners will have their picture in the PS Messenger, the PTA newsletter, and will have bragging rights for the year. Wednesday, November 2nd: Rags to Riches - Dress WAY UP Day Cost - $1.00 Staff & Students - Here’s your chance to wear your favorite Dressy Clothes that you normally would not wear to school.
Thursday, November 3rd: Continue Penny Wars
Friday, November 4th: Team Spirit Day - Show your TEAM SPIRIT and wear your jeans and favorite team jersey, team t-shirt, team sweatshirt, etc.
