Math: Online text book, students can access textbook pages (click on access the Online eBook), lessons that explain concepts, and other activities. To access: www.eharcourtschool.com ALL students can use this generic username and password: User Name: VSTUDENT3 Password: t3u3
Social Studies: Again with the online textbook students can access textbook pages. The students can read the textbook or have the the website read the text aloud. To log on to this resource go to http://www.eduplace.com/eservices and use the username: cobbstudent3 and password: password.
Science: Similar to the online social studies text, the students can read the text or listen as the text is read aloud. Go to www.thinkcentral.com, answer the questions about state, district, and school. Use the username: varnerstudent and the password: science.
Cobb Virtual Library has access to Destiny (our card catalog program) and many online encyclopedias students can use for research at home. http://cvl.cobbk12.org/ Click on Elementary and use the login: cobb and password: bird.
SkillsTutor is now up and running! SkillsTutor is an internet based program that gives the student practice in math and reading. We use this program at school in the classroom and the computer lab. Since it is internet based the kids can use it at home too! Access SkillsTutor at www.myskillstutor.comand the username is set to the students' library card numbers (Don't let the fool you! They know this number), the password is cobb (all lowercase) and the site is Varner01.
The Online Assessment System (OAS) https://www.georgiaoas.org gives students practice with CRCT type questions. Students need their ten digit Georgia Testing ID number (GT ID #). All passwords will be set to education. As soon as I am able, I will be sending the following letter home with your child's GT ID # on it: Download Elementary Letter OAS
Destiny Access: When you and your child access Destiny from home you can renew books, place books on home, rate a book, and more! To access Destiny visit cvl.cobbk12.org, click on Elementary, click Destiny Library Catalog, choose Varner, and click log in, from here the students will log in the same way they log in at school.
