It's hard to believe January has come and gone! It seems we hit the floor running each day, and the day is over before we know it! Mrs. Landmon and I have developed a structure for the children where they receive almost exclusively small group instruction. Every child, every day, is met with in a small group for math and reading. We both teach and guide writing groups, as well. For other subjects, such as science, social studies, and health, we split the class in half where we can have in-depth instruction and discussion about what they are learning. We plan together and implement lessons based on your children's individual needs. We care very deeply for each and every one of your children and always expect the best of them.
Your children are such a rewarding group of children to teach. We are blessed with a caring atmosphere where they feel safe to make mistakes and learn at their own pace because they appreciate each others' gifts, talents, and uniqueness. We hope they enjoy coming to school each day as much as Mrs. Landmon and I look forward to each day.
Next Tuesday is Valentine's Day. I will send home a list of our dear Valentines so the children can make cards to bring in on Tuesday. We will have a short celebration at the end of the day where they will distribute their cards and enjoy a special snack. We will have a surprise guest on that day, so look for the person's name on the Valentine list! The children will make something at school to bring home all their treasures.
Have a wonderful weekend!
PS We are running in short supply of the following items: pencils, gluesticks, colored pencils, and erasers.
