A great new website that allows students to work through different 5th grade concepts and compete against the world... or classmates, etc.  Making it a part of weekly review will definitely benefit our class!  Parents & students can monitor progress and areas of strength/weakness.  Another tool to help prepare for the CRCT.

Try it out and send me feedback about it.  Students have recorded their unique username and passwords in their agendas.

Yearbook Dedications & Baby Photos

Dear Parents of Varner 5^th Grade Students,

 

We have two exciting opportunities for you to enhance your Child’s presence in the 2011-2012 Varner Yearbook!

 

1. 5^th Grade Baby Pictures: The yearbook will have a page with “baby pictures” of our 5^th graders. You can submit your baby pictures via email to Charlene Barrera at chassh36@gmail.com. You can also send your print photos and we will scan them, or submit photo on CD/Jump Drive. Send in photos in an envelope marked “Yearbook Baby Pics”. Be sure to include your child’s name and teacher. We will return all materials back to you. ALL BABY PICTURES MUST BE SUBMITTED BY DECEMBER 16, 2011 TO BE INCLUDED IN THE YEARBOOK.

 

2. Commemorate your child’s final year of elementary school with a

5^th Grade Dedication in the 2011-2012 Varner Yearbook!

 

For the second year, we are offering 5^th Grade Dedications that will be printed in the yearbook. Dedications will be text boxes (approximately “business card sized”), and will appear printed in the back section of the yearbook.

 

This is a great opportunity to congratulate your student, and enhance the keepsake value of their yearbook. Dedications cost $10, and all proceeds from the 5^th Grade Dedications will go to support the 5^th Grade Day Celebration at the end of the school year.

If you would like to purchase a 5^th Grade Dedication, please return this with $10 (check, made payable to “Varner PTA”) by December 16, 2011. Please put the form and payment in an envelope marked “Yearbook Dedication”, and return to school. Forms returned without payment will not be processed. Forms submitted after the December 16 deadline will not be processed.
